Barbequed Spare Ribs

Hunt's Tomato Sauce -- (small can)
1/2 Cup
Onion -- finely chopped
1/3 Cup
Water
1/4 Cup
Butter (or margarine)
1 Tablespoon
Paprika
1 Teaspoon
Brown sugar -- packed
1/2 Teaspoon
Salt
1/4 Teaspoon
Pepper,Black
1/4 Cup
Lemon Juice
1 Tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon
Red Wine Vinegar
1 Kilogram
Pork Spare Ribs -- (2.2 pounds)
Vegetable Oil
Salt to taste
For the sauce: (while ribs are baking for first 1/2 hour, make the sauce)
1) Heat all ingredients except lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce to boiling in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat.
2) Stir in lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce and heat until
hot.
For the ribs:
1) Sprinkle salt on the ribs and rub with vegetable oil.
2) Place in a roasting pan and bake in the oven at 190° C (375° F) for 1/2 hour.
3) Spoon some of the sauce over the ribs and continue baking for another 1 to 1 1/2 hours (depending on the thickness of the ribs). During this time, spoon more sauce over the ribs every 20 minutes.
